Brian's Birthday & Valentine's Day in Dubai

Brian and I officially kicked off our journey abroad in Dubai on his birthday (aka Valentine's Day!)

Dubai is a modern, clean, and chic city with tons of high rises and modern buildings. The locals are polite and refined. The traditional food (Arab and Lebanese) is spiciful and delicious. You hear multitudes of different languages being spoken everywhere because it is such a global city with expats and visitors coming to Dubai from all corners of the world.

Some of the Dubai highlights include:

• Jogging around the Dubai Marina

• Going to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building of the world and the 124th floor observatory

• Dinner cruise around the Dubai Marina seeing the Palm Islands, Atlantis Hotel, and the sailboat hotel, aka Burj Al Arab

• Sharjah Desert Safari. Riding sand dunes, riding a camel, watching native dancers, and eating yummy Arabic food in the desert.

• Tasting Arabic fast food at the Dubai Mall food court

• Soaking up the Middle Eastern sun at the Dubai Marina beach overlooking the Gulf

Our visit to Dubai was our first trip ever to the Middle East. We hope to explore more parts of the Arab world and Middle East someday.
