2nd Anniversary Weekend in Montevideo, Uruguay

Brian and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary in Montevideo, Uruguay, a coastal town that is a 2 hour boat ride from Buenos Aires.

The boat terminal, Buquebus, is like an airport terminal where you have to check in your bags, go through customs and a security screen, and get your passport stamped.

Montevideo is consistently ranked as a city with the highest standard of living in Latin America. We found Montevideo to be a charming coastal town where people moved at a much more relaxed pace. It was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of chaotic Buenos Aires.

We spent the whole weekend walking along the coast, particularly The Rambla and Pocitos Beach.

For dinner, we ate at a local restaurant near Pocitos Beach named the Uruguay Natural, where they served (surprise!) Uruguayan steak and pasta.

You never leave Uruguay without trying their local wine, "Tannat" which is their version of Merlot. Myles would not have been happy with this tasting.

Thank you Montevideo for the charming and relaxing 2nd anniversary weekend.
