Fish Spa Treatment in Phuket, Thailand

Today I did something I thought I'd never do! A fish spa treatment in Phuket, Thailand.

What's a fish spa treatment? Getting a fish spa treatment means you place your feet in tanks of warm freshwater containing dozens (probably about 100!) toothless Garra rufa fish. These Garra rufa fish originate in the middle east in countries like Turkey and Syria. Basically they suck and nibble away at dry, dead skin and clean your feet.

This treatment is ever so popular in Thailand and all over Asia. It has however been banned in 14 states in the US.

As you can see in the video above, I couldn't handle it without laughing (and screaming in agony) the entire time! It tickled, felt slippery, and felt really gross. It was pure torture!!!

Brian on the other hand said it was relaxing and made his feet feel smooth. The fish loved his feet and nibbled on his dead skin all the way up to his calves.
