Friends From California and Canada Visiting Buenos Aires

It's been a fun and eventful week hosting friends visiting from California and Canada in Buenos Aires!

My childhood friend Michelle and her boyfriend Chris stayed with Brian and I for a week. Michelle and Chris have hosted Brian and I a number of times at their home in Lake Tahoe, so Brian and I were more than happy to host them in Buenos Aires and their first visit to South America.

I kept this physically active couple busy with multiple activities:

  • Bike tour of Buenos Aires

  • Tango lessons for beginner's at a milonga, a tango club

  • The Argentine Experience Dinner (photo above) where we learned how to make empanadas and how to eat Argentine food

  • Wine tasting with Anuva Winery

  • MALBA and Museo de Evita

  • San Telmo Sunday Market and tango at Dorrego Plaza

  • Recoletta Cemetary

  • Dinners and meals at Brian and my favorite Buenos Aires restaurants!

After Michelle and Chris left Argentina, I had a chance to meet up with my friends Dennis and Christina from Toronto Canada, who I had met earlier this year in India!

Dennis and Christina are a very sweet couple who love to travel the world and were about to board a cruise ship touring the cape of South America. Next year they are taking a full year off to travel throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Africa, and Europe.

I took Dennis and Christina to Cafe Tortoni, the oldest cafe in Buenos Aires on Avenida de Mayo close to the presidential palace.

It was so good to host friends in Buenos Aires and show them around this week!
