Our first visitors in Hawaii
Spinner Dolphins in Ko Olina with visitors Arlene and David!
When Brian and I left San Francisco, I thought it would be really hard to leave all of the amazing Bay Area friends we made behind. It meant having to start over from scratch to meet new people and make new friends.
Little did we know that however, that so many of our family and friends would be visiting us in Hawaii!
Within our first 2 months of officially living in Hawaii, Brian and I already had 4 separate groups of friends visit Hawaii.
Brian had a Grad School classmate James and his wife Natasha visit, and a former colleague from Chicago named Lou and his wife Erin also visited. Both James and Lou's families stayed at nearby resorts, so we had the opportunity to spend the day with them hanging out at the lagoons and dining at our favorite neighborhood restaurant, Fish House at the Four Seasons Hotel.

With Arlene and David at Paradise Cove Luau
My girlfriends Arlene from Calgary (who I visited last summer in Canada!) and Esther from San Francisco (the Momma of our Goddaughter Bailey) visited and stayed with Brian and I for a week each.
We had so much fun!
Arlene visited with David. We lined up many on-the-go activities such as the Paradise Cove Luau, catamaran snorkel sail with Ko Olina Ocean Adventures, sunset yoga, and lots of beach and pool time. Take a look at the video of spinner dolphins above from our catamaran sail tour.
With Esther at Lagoon 3, Ko Olina
Esther's visit was blessed with amazing weather which meant that we spent most of it at the beaches of Ko Olina, hanging out poolside, dining at various nearby eateries, and also having a fun day shopping in Honolulu.

I'm so thankful that my girlfriends and Brian's friends visited! That's the beautiful thing about Hawaii. No matter how far away we may be from the mainland, our family and friends are enthusiastic about visiting us in Hawaii!
In the next couple of months, we have more visitors including family and friends staying with us.
Stay tuned.
